Richard Marcus became a popular gambler in a very young age and in fact he was ironically a victim of casino cheating . At a very young age Richard began playing poker and betting at horse tracks. During his teens he came up with many small scams which he used to make money from people and had gathered a decent sum of money to the time he was 20.

Sudden collaboration

At the age of twenty he traveled to Las Vegas to play at the casinos. However, he was not legally of age to be able to gamble. He lost all his money at the high stake games and had to find a job at a casino in Vegas as a dealer. It was there that he met Joe Classon , a very well known casino cheater who convinced Richard to be a part of a casino scam. Richard came up with his own false shuffle technique which was quite good since he was able to deal the fixed hands without anyone's knowledge even from the shoe. In a short time, they made around $21,000 in the casino.

Valuable experience

He joined the pastposting team run by Joe Classon which consisted of Jerry Palmer , Joe Classon and Duke Swenson. He was taught a lot of tricks of blackjack cheating , baccarat cheating , roulette cheating and craps tables. Richard started as a claimer and collected the bets that had been switched by the team members.f eventually he learnt all the complicated tricks and he continued to work with the same team for around twelve years. He even came up with several of his own pastposting moves. Richard invented the mix-up method of claiming chips.

In 1989, when the team ceased its work, Richard joined hands with Pat Mallery , his friend with no experience in illegal cheating scams. Richard trained him and soon Mallery learnt all the pastposting techniques. In 1994, the team started pastposting large chips like $5,000 in various Las Vegas casinos. Later the next year they invented their own Savannah move which is considered to be the best ever cheating move.

For more than five years, Richard continued to cheat the casinos all over the world using the Savannah technique and making millions of dollars. He retired in 2000 and writes books since then about his adventures as a casino cheater, sharing his knowledge with other people.
