Poker Collusion as a Method of Cheating at the Casino Game

What is it?

There are several different ways for players to cheat at poker. One of the most common casino cheating methods in which players often cheat is collusion. Collusion is actually a conspiracy or a pact between two or more people during the game.

When players engage in coordinated game play for their advantage, it is known as collusion. This can be done in many different forms; it may be either done in a harmless amateur way or even in a large organized way. The collusion happens, for example, when two or more players agree not to place any bets for the rest of the hand and in such case it is quite harmless.

Team-work

Normally, collusion refers to forming teams with other players at the table. There may be two, three or even more players who play for the benefit of the team rather than their own. They frequently use coded signals to communicate with each other. They work with special signals to let the rest of the team know what cards they have. There are different kinds of instructions according to betting and in accordance with the hands.

This would give them an advantage over the other players at the table which is why it is considered to be cheating. There are several milder forms of collusion but in any form the method is considered to be cheating. Partners in collusion are very often known as agents. The poker cheating becomes quite difficult for only one player. The poker itself implements the formation of teams.

Collusion`s benefits

This method is quite easy to execute and is not very easy to detect because there are more than one player and their actions are very unrecognizable. Because of this, collusion has become quite popular with players as a cheating method. Anyone who is a part of such team and helps to get an advantage by cheating is known as an agent.

An agent could be anybody who helps to cheat. In most cases it is another player at the table who is a part of the game. However, in some cases even the dealer can be involved and appeared to be an agent. Floor personnel who indulge in incorrect ruling or a dealer who would manipulate the deal to help the players can be a part of the team. In most cases, a player would just signal the other player if he has a good hand. The other players would place bets to encourage the opponents to raise and bet on the hands. Thus they build up a large pot and when they win, they split profits equally.
