Joe Classon was born in 1933 in New York City. Joe, along with his brother Henry had first been introduced to gambling in the 1940s by Stanley Classon, his uncle. Stanley Classon himself had been known as a noted cheater in New York during those times. Over the years, Henry sharpened his cheating skills in poker while Joe had been drafted to Korea during the war.

On breaks in between combat, Joe Classon usually played poker with the other members of the troop. However, at that point of time Joe had been an honest player and had not thought much about casino cheating . On the contrary, he and the other players in the game used to be very frequently cheated by other players in the game who used to deal seconds.

The first cheating expedition

By the time Joe Classon came back from the war, his brother Henry Classon had already become a honed gambler at dice and card cheating. At that time, Joe was not ready to join him in his cheating scandals since he had other career options in mind. However, later he changed his mind and joined hands with his brother. His first cheating expedition had been in 1954 at a Puerto Rico casino in a form of roulette cheating . Henry had taught him how to pastpost on roulette wheels which both of them together managed to pull off quite easily in various casinos all over Las Vegas, Cuba and in Puerto Rico.

Fresh forces

Later on Joe Classon took it to another level when he married Ruthie, a dancer at a hotel. Ruthie too joined the team and became the claimer of the team. Ruthie used to dance around the casino while taking the chips off different tables. According to one famous story, during one of their cheating expeditions, Ruthie had been dancing around the tables while snatching claims from the tables when a producer from Hollywood saw her entire move along with the pastposting scam of the team. Ruthie was asked to come for a screen test later by the producer. She went to Hollywood, starred in a movie and married to the producer in true movie style.

The own team

Later, Joe and Henry split their ways and Joe Classon started his own team along with long time friends Duke Swenson and Jerry Palmer, both of who were known to be famous cheaters. From 1969 till 1989 when he retired, Joe Classon was known to run one of the best pastposting teams in the world. Later in 1977, Richard Marcus had also joined the team. Joe Classon is known for using various casino cheating methods at roulette and blackjack, but is mainly famous for his pastposting cheating team that had managed to win hundreds and thousands of dollars.
